About Patay Post

I’m George Patay, the owner and principal editor of Patay Post. I have over 30 years of experience in broadcast television and corporate video post-production. In my career, besides being an editor, I’ve worked as a producer/director, cameraman and voice-over talent.

My editing work has appeared on CBS, ESPN, the Big Ten Network, College Sports TV, WTTW, played at film festivals and has been available for sale through Amazon, the iTunes Music Store and elsewhere.
Some have won media awards, such as the Cindys, Telly Awards, Catalyst, the US Int. Film and Video Festival, and the National Mature Media Awards.

My extensive video experience contributes to my understanding of the importance of both the latest creative trends as well as, the technical aspects of video and post production. I work hard to stay abreast of what's current and what's coming in technology.

Editing software is going through a lot of changes and I am current with the latest in technology. I have had Avid, Premiere Pro and FCP training and was Apple certified on an early version of Final Cut Pro (4) in 2009.

I was also one of the founding members of the Chicago Final Pro User's Group (CHIFCPUG) and served on the Board of Directors from 2002 until 2009. Currently, I serve as an advisor to the Chicago Creative Pro User Group and regularly speak at the meetings.
